This eight days round trip brings you to the classical attractions of northern Oman, but with our unique mix of activities and experiences. You will visit the cultural highlights of Nizwa, amazing landscapes of Jebel Akhdar, coastal city of Sur, legendary desert of Sharqiya and the breath taking scenes of Wadi Bani Khalid. Explore the country’s capital Muscat and experience the charm of an oriental city.
Upon Arrival you will be transferred to the Hotel. Check-in to the hotel.

Overnight in Muscat.
Leave your hotel after breakfast. Visit the grand mosque, a religious landmark of Muscat and splendor of unique Islamic architecture (Islamic dress code is compulsory). This mosque of superlatives completed in 2001, refers to be the main mosque in Oman and one of the two mosques in Sultanate, which you could visit as a non-Muslim (other one is in Salalah). Witness the world’s second largest handmade carpet and huge Swarovski chandeliers in the main prayer hall.
On your way back to the city center you will go past the Opera House, the Gulfs only concert hall, and reach the old town.
Stroll around the old city quarter and have a photo-stop at the Qasr Al Alam, the official Palace of HM the Sultan. This palace is mainly used for representative purposes of His Majesty. Visit Bait Al Zubair Museum (except Friday) with its wealth of information and exhibits on the country’s culture, tradition and heritage.
Drive to Muttrah, a delightful quarter of Muscat. Muttrah souq is one of the most beautiful oriental markets in the Gulf States. Step into the fish market, stroll along the Corniche to admire the beautiful merchant houses and experience the shopping in the busy souk. The largest and oldest bazaar of Oman is traditionally divided into zones for selling a variegated array of shops with souvenirs, antiques, frankincense, gold, textiles, leather goods, jewelry, traditional sabers and many other goods.
After the breakfast, we start to drive along the coastal road towards Wadi Shab. Before arrive to Wadi Shab you will visit Bimah Sink hole on your way. Bimah Sink hole was formed in limestone by a collapse of large cave chamber. The sink hole is approximately 50m x 70m large, 20m – 30m deep. At the bottom is located deep blue – green lake with a heap of rock – remnants of the collapse. Continue the tour to Wadi Shab, the very popular picnic place among locals and the tourists. Depending on the water level, you may have to take a boat to across to the other side. After walking along with palm groves, on rugged rocky cliffs, you can see some of the amazing natural pools with fresh clean waters.
Afterwards we drive to Sur. Sur is one of the ancient city in Oman along with a port. It was a main trade center with India and East Africa. After a short sightseeing tour in Sur city, you will have the chance to visit a domestic shipyard. Experience the traditional dhow construction process (typical type of traditional ship) thriving yet old fashioned.
Drive to the hotel and overnight in Sur.
Today we start the tour in the morning from Sur towards Al Sharqiyah Sand desert. Continue the tour to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the most visited wadis in Al Sharqiyah region in Oman. This Wadi stream maintains a constant flow of water throughout the year. Large pools of water and boulders are scattered along the course of the Wadi. You will get the chance to swim in one of the pools in the beautiful Wadi Bani Khalid.
After having a swimming break continue the tour to Al Sharqiyah Sands. Already on your way, you will witnesses the emerging sand dunes on your left. Al Sharqiyah Sands was very famous before as Wahiba Sands. A breathtaking tour through sand dunes, where you also have the chance to visit “Bedouin” family. You will experience the true hospitality of the Bedouins and enjoy a traditional “Khawa” coffee with some fresh dates. Enjoy the sunset.
In the morning after the breakfast, we start to drive towards Izki. Along the way, you will witness stunning views, beautiful Wadis and landscapes. In Izki, we are able to interact with the locals and have the local lunch at a local house in Oman. After the lunch proceed to Nizwa the former capital of the Sultanate during the reign of Sultan Said bin Taimur, the father of the late sultan HM the Sultan Qaboos.
As a trade, religion, art and education, Nizwa is the one of the oldest cities in Oman. The old part of the city can be recognized with its dominant stone castle and the towers of the mosque amidst the vast plantations of date palms. Visit the round tower fort, which is the only one fort of its kind. The fort, which took 12 years to build, is linked with a castle by means of intricate corridors. Thereafter you will visit the famous Souq in Nizwa. The Souq has remained for hundreds of years home to a number of local industries such as copper, daggers, silver, spinning, pottery and handicrafts. You will have ample opportunity for shopping before proceed to the hotel. Afternoon free for leisure or optional activities.
Today your journey will start in the morning to the famous “Green Mountain” in Al Hajar mountains range. Walk 1-2 hours through the mountain villages on small old trails. Sometimes steep over stairs and along irrigation channels falaj, which gives you the opportunity to witness the lifestyle of the villagers among the mountains situated more than 2000 m above the sea level.
Visit the rose plantation (blossoming – mainly March/April) in Jabel Akdhar area and you may have a chance to see the domestic rose water distillery. Learn the insider information about cultivating, harvesting and processing of rosewater with a local farmer.
Leave the hotel after the breakfast and drive heading to Muscat via main road. On the way you will see some interesting landscapes. Your first stop will be Al Hamra village. Al Hamra is one of the best preserved 400 years old town in Oman. Visit Living history museum Bait Al Safah,where locals demonstrate old Omani traditions in a restored mud-brick house.
Continue the tour to and arrive to see the world’s most expensive perfume factory Amouage in Muscat. The company established in 1983 and pay a visit to the visitor’s center. Here you will get a chance to buy the perfumes from the company itself.
Drive to National Hospitality Institute in Muscat, where you can participate a cooking lesson. (All participants should wear closed shoes and full length trousers for kitchen activities) Learn how to cook Omani traditional foods with instructions from the professionals. Here you will get the unforgettable memory of cooking & tasting the Omani foods.
Drive back to hotel.
Say good-bye to your memorable stay in Oman. Transfers are arranged to bring you to the airport for your departure flight.
