Day 1. Salalah

In the afternoon, visit “The Museum of the Frankincense Land”. Drive through lush green plantations of vegetables & fruits. Make a Photo stop at the impressive Sultan Qaboos Mosque. View the Official Palace of His Majesty the Sultan (Al Husn Palace) & stroll through the old Haffah souk, famous for the sale of high quality Frankincense & numerous other Dhofari traditional souvenirs. This gives us an ample opportunity for shopping, before we return to the hotel. Overnight in Salalah. B

Day 2. Salalah West

Visit the ancient tomb of ‘Prophet Job’ situated in the scenic green mountains of the Salalah Plains. Experience the legendary story of Prophet Job and his devoutness. Proceed to the beach of Mughsail where the white sand touches the deep blue of the ocean & at high tide, where waves burst through the natural titanic ‘Blow Holes’, at the far end of the ‘Rocky beach’ with a cave-like entrance. Continue along the ‘Hair-pin-bend’ road towards West to enjoy the panoramic sceneries before you return to Salalah. Then back to the hotel; The afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in Salalah. B

Day 3. East of Salalah – Shuwaymiya

Start the tour along the east coast, the frankincense trail. Visit the fortress of Taqa. Visit the ruins of Sumhuram (Khor Rohri) with remains of ancient frankincense port of the kingdom of Hadramaut, former center of the frankincense trade (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Continue to Mirbat, former capital of Dhofar, famous for trading frankincense, horses and slaves in the 9th century. Make a photo stop on the way at the mausoleum of Bin Ali. Continue along the coast to Shuwaymiya. Arrived in Shuwaymiya take a walk in the spectacular landscape in a Wadi with a small waterfall. Overnight stay in a very simple hotel in Shuwaymiya or outdoor camping. B

Day 4. Shuwaymiya – Ras Madraka – Duqm

On the way to Ras Madraka we make a short detour to the beach side to watch some interesting landscapes. The place is called red lagoon, a small isolated lagoon with reddish colored water, and rich of birds. You may see hundreds and thousands of shore birds at the beach. Drive to Ras Madraka, an idyllic cove of white sandy beach and black rock. No less interesting is the so-called Rock Garden in Duqm, a lunar landscape with strangely shaped rocks that adorn the amazing landscapes of nature. Overnight in Duqm. B

Day 5. Duqm – Ras Ar Ruways – Wahiba Sands

Continue the tour towards north to Ras Ar Ruways where the dunes of the Wahiba Sands meets the Arabian Sea. From there we cross Al Sharqiya Sands to the Desert Camp where we settle down before the sunset. Dinner and overnight in the desert camp. B/L/D

Day 6. Wahiba Sands – Wadi Bani Khalid – Muscat

In the morning you can experience camel riding in the desert (optional). After breakfast continue your journey to one of the most visited Oasis in the region; Wadi Bani Khalid. The large natural pools are often a cordial invitation to take a dip. Afterwards drive to  your Muscat Hotel. Overnight in Muscat. B

Day 7. Muscat

Drive through the beautiful embassy quarter of Muscat en route to Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. Visit the grand mosque, a religious landmark of Muscat and splendor of unique Islamic architecture (Islamic dress code is compulsory). On your way back to the city center you will go past the Opera House, the Gulf′s only concert hall, and reach the old town. Visit the 16th -Century forts Jalali and Mirani. Stroll around the old city quarter and have a photo-stop at the Qasr Al Alam, the official Palace of HM Sultan Qaboos. Visit Bait Al Zubair Museum with its wealth of information and exhibits on the country’s culture, tradition and heritage. Muttrah souq is one of the most beautiful oriental markets in the Gulf States. Step into the fish market, stroll along the Corniche to admire the beautiful merchant houses and experience the shopping in the busy souk. The largest and oldest bazaar of Oman is traditionally divided into zones for selling a variegated array of shops with souvenirs, antiques, frankincense, gold, textiles, leather goods, jewelry, traditional sabers and many other goods.  Return to the hotel; The afternoon is at leisure. Overnight in  Muscat. B

  • Please pay attention to the local customs of taking photographs. No photography/filming allowed at the Museum. Your guide will advise you the particulars.
  • Guests should wear comfortable but decent cloths (No sleeveless or No shorts) by visiting religious places. All guests must remove their shoes before visiting religious places inside. Please pay attention to the specified dress code by visiting Grand Mosque from inside.
